About the
Guy Fraiture Foundation?

Our mission is simple yet profound: to support soccer and education opportunities for underserved communities in the Washington D.C. area and beyond.

We established the Guy Fraiture Foundation for those who would like to honor Guy Fraiture's legacy with/beyond the Georgetown Prep community. His coaching was not confined to the team at Prep; he also coached three boys’ club teams from Bethesda Soccer Club and two girls’ club teams from Bethesda and Potomac Soccer Clubs. His teams won more than six Maryland State Cup titles, four regional titles, and one National title, and he was named the Maryland Coach of the Year in 1986.

All donations will go to support soccer and education opportunities for underserved communities in the Washington D.C. area and beyond.

The Guy Fraiture Classic Alumni Game

In July 2023, an alumni soccer game was held in honor of Coach Fraiture, who was the Head Coach of varsity soccer at Georgetown Prep from 1978-2013. Over 30 players from Guy’s Prep and club teams participated. The event was hosted by the Office of Alumni Engagement at Georgetown Prep and followed by a BBQ.

Fraiture Field

Georgetown Prep's leadership and the soccer community have named the Soccer Bowl at the North Fields for the late and longtime Head Coach of Georgetown Prep Varsity Soccer Guy Fraiture 1977-2013.

On Friday, September 29, 2023 at the game vs. Landon, Father Van Dyke, S.J., alongside over 200 guests, including the Varsity Soccer team and their parents, many alumni (and their parents) who played for Coach Fraiture, and dear friends of the Fraiture family, blessed and dedicated the field, Fraiture Field. As stated on the plaque to be placed in front of this field, "Guy epitomized the Jesuit philosophy and modeled what it meant to be a “Man For Others.” He held a strong passion for the sport of soccer and a deep commitment as a teacher, coach, role model, and mentor by forming many students and athletes into young men. We are forever grateful to Coach Guy Fraiture for his generosity and tireless dedication to the school."
